A Family Business
Roberta Keeth Calyore owns the Wicker Showroom and has been in business here in Naples Florida since 1973, originally moving from Fridley Minnesota.
Roberta's parents came to Naples in 1973 and started the business with several pieces of antique Wicker. Then shortly after that they started going to furniture markets and ordering from importers.
Business grew to where they had a 10,000 square foot showroom. Then in the late 70's they decided to sell the business and retire.
But Florence wasn't ready to retire. She opened a small showroom (in our current location) with a few display pieces and intending on just special orders from a catalog.
Expansion.
It went over well enough that Steve & Roberta Calyore joined her and expanded it to a warehouse store. Then around 1983 Wicker Warehouse went through some major changes and became more of a showroom.
Air Conditioning!
We added special lighting and (believe it or not added Air Conditioning) and started to carry a better quality product with more selections. It wasn't until 1996 that Roberta decided to become Florence's partner in the business.
Keeping it in the Family.
Then about 5 years later Roberta decided to buy the business from Florence her Mom and make it a life long career. Florence is still a large part of the business making decisions. As well as a very big help in running it today.
